Walking Iris
Walking Iris
Walking Iris, formally known as Neomarica or Apostle Iris, is a member of the Iris family with unusual behavior. After the flower blooms and fades, the seeds pods bend towards the ground and then new plantlets grow from the tip of the flower stalks. With each new flower, the stem moves forward, giving the impression that the flowers are walking. The plant is found in shades of white and blue with varying colors of stripes. This South American native thrives in bright indirect light and rich, humus-filled potting mix.
