Anthuriums, also known as Flamingo Flowers, are a genus of perennial plants native to Central America, northern South America, and the Caribbean. The colorful, heart-shaped flower is generally grown in greenhouses, but can also be grown outdoors in warm climates. The unique flower is found in shades of pink, orange, red, green, purple, black, yellow, salmon, brown, white, and even blue. The plant thrives in bright, indirect sunlight and acidic, coarse, and moist potting mix. You might have to give your anthurium plant a stake for it to grow against if it fails to support itself.
