The Plectranthus is a genus of plants native to the Southern Hemisphere and contains more than 350 species of plants closely related to the mint family. Most plants in this genus are considered annuals or perennial, very easy to maintain, and used as food, ornamental, or medicine. Some well-known species under this genus are Coleus (Plectranthus scutellarioides), Mexican mint (Plectranthus amboinicus), and Mona Lavender (Plectranthus Hilliardiae).
