Cryptanthus Bromelioides, commonly known as the Earth Star Plants, is a terrestrial bromeliad characterized by colorful flat rosettes. Endemic to Brazil, this odd plant is found in hues of dark green, pink, and red with solid colors, bands, spots, and various other patterns as well as small but beautiful white or pink blooms. However, the plant only blooms once before it produces offsets, after which it dies. This life cycle lasts about 3 years. The Earth Star Plant thrives under indirect light or partial shade as well as specialized bromeliad potting mix in a moist environment. However, make sure not to leave them in standing water.
